Blind theft is a bane to anyone in the blind poker en ligne position. Just because you have already paid into the pot, don’t expect to get to see the flop without having to pay anything else. Every time you get a less than premium poker online hand, you’re at risk of losing your blinds to a raise without even seeing the flop. And what big blind hasn’t folded 5-7 unsuited only to see a 7-7-5 flop because some joker tried to buy the blinds pre-flop? There is a defense against a majority of blind thefts-it’s called information. Knowing who is trying to steal your blinds from you is a big step towards hanging on to your chips. If the poker player who raises you is generally passive, it’s probable that they’ve got some strong cards. If you know a player who is regularly aggressive, you can usually count on him to try to buy the blinds with rags or a single high card, so calling his raise would be in order. If you’ve got a good starting hand, you can re-raise him and get him to reconsider his decision. Be careful with the re-raise, though. Since he’s aggressive, you may be facing more raises as the hand continues, so maybe calling his raise and seeing how the flop turns out might be prudent.
