Dating Created to Last

For one, You couldn’t describe me as pleasantly satisfied living alone and remain an honest woman. However, I’m not unsatisfied about it, either. I just mention it here as an intriguing personal tidbit introducing what I will shortly unravel!

A week ago today yours truly was talking to Stacey, pondering about signing up for Great Expectations Dallas. Now, I sit to my readers as a fully satisfied member of the singles network. No kidding, I am. Its very comfortable and full of nice people! If you have read my old blog, you’re probably thinking, “You totally owe me an explanation.”

So, I looked at this Great Expectations Dating site and felt encouraged. They’re for quality and professional singles who care enough to know dating should mean something.

Quite frankly, I’d never been interested in the ridiculous nightlife ritual serial daters (ie: everyone I know) have christened “dating.” I got it more than anyone should. Each night people nagg, “Are you two serious yet?” and “You should date!”

“Nonsense,” I reply, and playfully so. “Take a look around, I’m not missing much.”

“Don’t be silly,” they level with me. “How would you know, you haven’t seen Friday Night Magic in a year!”

Leave it to my sister (she’s the best) hah! Sandy McCarthy. She offers reality directly to my core to put me back on course. Friends are always there to offer perspective. No countering that, so I signed up.

Back to the message of this essay. As I picked from hundreds of outfits (hah) and desirable, honest singles for my first singles event with Great Expectations, a revelation hit me real. For years, I hadn’t allowed myself any literal great expectations for dating in the serendipitous winding course of being human. Single life has its perks, only with healthy optimism. Having great expectations works terrifically in dating.
